Updated Brief Development

The following images are the updated versions of the signage brief. I have changed the wood on the information sign and added a relevant background which is a photograph that I took on the site visit, I have also designed a master board which would be situated outside of the reception/the main entrance.

Below are the in situ images that I created which shows the height of the signs next to a human.

Prototype Development Two

Prototype Stage Developments

Below are my signs at a prototype stage. I have three example concepts for the directional sign, the fingerpost directional signpost (1) which would be found near the reception or the entrance which would be seen by the most people. This sign would, of course, have directions on it but they would be more vague as in they would point to the directions so the user would then find a different sign with more detail on it. All of the signs can be placed wherever around the site, they aren't limited to a specific section, I just thought that the three go well together and they follow a trend but at the same time they are quite different design wise but not content wise.

The information signage, I have two examples at this prototype stage, the content of the design is very basic at the moment as it needs textures looking into but this is the type of format my sign is going to be in. It is going to be quite large and quite low to the ground but with a slight angle in order for any aged user to read it.

This is the finger post sign.

This is the more attractive option of the signs.

This sign can blend in to the background reasonably well without it being unnoticeable.

Safari Park Signage Research

I recently visited Woburn Safari Park and decided to do some research of the types of signage that is present in this type of environment. This environment would see audiences of all types such as staff, children and adults.

Below are some examples of the signage from this safari park.

Devon Signage Research

I recently visited Devon on holiday and I noticed the different signage systems and how they differ when they are by the sea. I have noticed that the colour schemes differ as they try to use a large amount of whites and blues when by the coast. Although this research isn't specific to the brief, it is still useful and very interesting to see the differences and similarities between the Wyre Forest research, for example, and then the coastal signage examples.

Below are some examples of signage that I came across whilst in Devon.
